BMW M5 Best

is a high performance version of the BMW 5-Series executive car built by the Motorsport division of BMW. First introduced at the Amsterdam Motor Show in 1984, the first incarnation of the M5 was hand-built utilizing the 535i chassis and a modified BMW M1 engine, being the fastest production sedan in the world at the time of its introduction. Subsequent iterations of the M5 have been built from each generation of the 5-Series platform, including the E34, E39 and most recently the E60/E61. The next generation of the M5 is expected in 2011 and will be based on the BMW F10.

In the late 1970s, Italian manufacturer Lamborghini entered into an agreement with BMW to build a production racing car in sufficient quantity for homologation. The result was sold to the public, from 1978 to 1981, as the BMW M1. It was the only mid-engined BMW to be mass produced. It employed a twin-cam M88/1 3.5 L 6-cylinder petrol engine with Kugelfischer mechanical fuel injection. A version of this motor was later used in the South African version of the BMW 735i, of which 209 examples were built between 1984 and 1986, as well as the E24 BMW M6/M635CSi and E28 BMW M5. The engine had six separate throttle butterflies, four valves per cylinder and produced 277 PS (204 kW; 273 hp) in the street version, giving a top speed of 260 km/h (160 mph). Turbocharged racing versions were capable of producing around 850 hp (634 kW).

BMW E60 Best

is the BMW 5 Series automobile, replacing the BMW E39 in 2003. It was replaced by the BMW F10 from Spring 2010.When the E60 was first introduced, many die-hard BMW fans were quick to shoot down the then future model. After much criticism, the E60 became extremely popular among the BMW community as well as the Euro-Car community. It soon surpassed sales of all previous 5 Series models. Furthermore, the E60 was used as a "benchmark" to design many vehicles that were produced after the E60. There are many similar qualities in different automobiles when looking at two side by side. For example, it is rumored that Honda Accord was modeled after the E60. The E60 gained even more acclaim after the LCI (Life Cycle Impulse) model was released in 2008. This LCI model just included a "face-lift" of the front and rear end of the vehicle. This "face-lift" included new front bumper, fog lights, head lights, tail lights, and trunk. The interior was also slightly remodeled as well.
